Woodville Big Tree

A 2.6km loop ideal for a family walk and picnic.

The trail starts 6km past the country village of Hoekville and boasts one of the best 'Big Trees' in the Garden Route.

Most visitors simply was to the Big Tree and return to their vehicles, missing out on a superb trail through the forest which has a diverse composition of trees.

Brown Hooded Kingfisher

A little known hike which follows the course of the Duiwe Rivier between Wilderness and Sedgefield.

The route is well marked but the path is rough in sections and requires confident footing at times.

It is a return route to a waterfall and has two swim spots along the way.

Circles in the Forest

A popular 3km forest walk that is easily accesible from Knysna.

Starting at the Dalene Mathee memorial Big Tree, the route crosses drainage lines with some spectacular Tree Ferns.

In addition to the Big Tree, at the parking area, there is an even more impressive speciman of Outeniqua Yellowwood along the trail.
